ATV tracks
« on: Dec 17, 2019, 06:33 AM »
Looking at tracks for my 650 Rincon. Wanted to get some opinions about the Idea of using a set of Tracks on the rear of my machine and a set of skis on the front. I've seen videos of quads set up like this but would like to get some opinions from people who are using tracked quads now.

I don't know if you can buy just the rear track set.  That said, I know a fellow who used a set of snowmobile tracks and added an extra set of wheels behind his drive wheels on his atv.  He used skis on the front and had no trouble at all.  https://ontariofishingcommunity.com/topic/77679-the-yamadoo-atv/?tab=comments#comment-896596

Very cool. Thank you for sharing. Should be on “Post your Ride”.

Kudos to the creative.

right now the same fellow is wrenching on a Japanese mini truck, possibly going to put a set of 4 tracks on it. Here's another one I found.  https://ontariofishingcommunity.com/uploads/monthly_2019_03/Capture.JPG.3056e48c2bd49f4217dba10c19c087f9.JPG

Wow. Too much time on his hands (which can do things my hands won’t).

Thanks for posting Fisherman. Good to see that an ATV can be turned into a snow machine with a single set of tracks along with skis. After all that's what other snow machines like Snowbear and Bombardiers are using. Four tracks on an ATV just looks like overkill to me.

5 years ago I bought a new 570 Polaris, about a week later I seen a add in CL for a set of Ad Bovin tracks that would fit it real cheap [$800]. Needless to say I bought them. I've only put the rear tracks on in the winter and keep the tires on the front of it and the thing can go anywhere I ask but I've never had it out in more than a foot of snow. I have had all four on it in the summer and it's unstoppable, floats over the top of bogs where other machines get hung up on their skid plate. I have driven other Polaris quad with tracks on in the summer and they are a bear to steer on hard ground but I have power steering on my 2015 and steers effortless.
