I think I'm going to try.  I did a good bit of driving north of the Fort today and didn't find anything I was willing to walk on until I got to the state line.  I went up the 69 corridor and didn't check anything to the west like I wanted to.  Not real good out there but I'm hopeful due to the extended forecast.

Never try to make the news for any reason!  I'll post a pic if I make it out.

If anyone goes, be careful out there.  Conditions are sketchy at best.  I saw lots of open edges, wet snow, and thin old ice on my couple hour drive NE yesterday.  Can't see anything with the snow other than some wet spots.  Don't go without a spud if you don't want to get wet.

Sketchy is what I'm being told.  1.5 - 2.0 inches of clear ice and 1 or so frozen snow slush.
Supportive early a.m.

Going to clear h2o for a jigging rod to pair with a ceymar 30.

Will post any update.

Drove by Fox yesterday,  didn't look good.  I guess that's because it's not good anywhere.   It's out there just be safe.  I haven't left yet but know I can fish where I'm going in southern Michigan.

We never got into the teens like was forecast, there for I checked a channel and two lakes in Noble and Kosciusko counties and was a no go on all! High Lake was wide open at the east bay, it's going to take some colder nights if we're going to get back out around here! Later Hex

Went to Michigan yesterday and got a nice limit of bluegill and crappie. I have a pond here in Kendallville and can’t get on at all. The small lake we fished yesterday had a good 6” of ice. The bigger lakes up there are hit and miss where you can go. With the recent snow it’s even tougher to know where not to walk. I couldn’t believe this lake had the ice it did and it’s only an hour and half drive to it. I’m still hoping to go here one more time but I don’t think it’s going to happen so I’ll just go north.

I actually got on the channel this morning I fished earlier this year, but she cracked too much for my liking so I decided not to fish. I was alone and didn't like the look of the ice, not to mention that only had about 2 to 2and a half inches that broke up underneath when I spudded! Maybe next week late some cold temperatures forecast. Fingers crossed! Hex
