Best One man shelter
« on: Nov 13, 2005, 08:18 PM »
I am looking at getting a one man shelter what kind do you like?
Anything I should avoid..any input will be helpful...

P.s. I should re-phrase the question and post it again to get on rico's nerves... ;D
I use the 80/20 rule you need 80% of the tackle to catch 20% of the fish

Dont get Rico going now JLC. he just got calmed down. LOL   ;)

I am kinda in the same boat on that question , just depends on what you want in the features deparment to dictate which make and model suits you needs for the type of fishing that you do.     Run and  drill     or    drill and sit. It's kinda like car shopping if you arent loyal to the different makers of vehicles. Shappell, Clam, Frabill, HT.   Ford, Chevy, Dodge, or rice burners.

you get the picture

I would recommend the Shappell Rover 1.  Plenty of room in it for your new Aqua Vu!  ;D

I don't have anything to really compare it to but my Eskimo one man shelter has been a great investment. It seems to be made of quality materials and keeps me out there longer on real cold days. It's a toss up if my Eskimo or Vexilar was a better purchase but I wouldn't know what to do without either one now! Come on cold weather !!

Where can you get the Shappell I am in Indy and I haven't seen them at GM castleton and greenwood and that is the only place that would carry them? I am not that big on mail-order...Thanks JLC

Jim's tackle in Marion Indiana usually gets them in around Thanksgiving. Ive fished out of one for three years now and am very happy with it. Give Jim a call at         765-662-7806

hey jlc, you had better listen to old jigginstick.  he is a man after my own heart.  if would just quit trying to catch those smelly ciscos!!!!!!!!!but seriously if you want to check out some different models and even compare prices go to marinegeneral.com.  i live up north but if you are ever around the barbee chain, check out the bait shop at the flowing well on st rd 13 across from kuhn lake.  if he aint got it, you dont need it!
