New trick for the jig fisherman
« on: Nov 08, 2005, 09:37 PM »
I don't know if anyone has tried this yet but I will this winter...I was in GM and saw that they have one of those vibrating rods to help with jigging...I have a couple of old Mach 3 razors that I am going to velcro to the rod and let them do the vibration hopefully this will save a few guys some money for the ice season...especially since the rods were $30+
I use the 80/20 rule you need 80% of the tackle to catch 20% of the fish

As a low tech way to do this, i have have alsways just tapped my finger on the rod while holding it. I dont knoe if it works, but it does not hurt either.

Tell you what works for me, coffee! By the time I get to the lake I am tanked up with about 4 cups of Joe and ready for all that action. On the downside, I couldn't tie a #12 jig on 2 pound test to save my life. The other bad part is the extra calls of mother nature which we know is difficult enough in a one piece suit let alone if you'r looking at another #12.  ;)
