Has anyone noticed cloudy/milky water after that rainy night a few days ago? Just bought a new flasher, but I have to have the gain up wayyy too high, but it seems the water is kind of cloudy? I'm getting nervous, thinking maybe I got a junk transducer, since I bought it on ebay. Does anyone else have this problem?

fished yesterday in cloudy water and had no problem with mine

dr speckler and i fished a cloudy lake and we both have vex.'s and we were about 100 feet away from each other and we both mention that we need the gained turne up a little bit more than normal. then it seemed like we could see are bubbles come up from the bottom. it only
happened on this one lake. other time we sit in tha same shanty and have the gains turned down to almost nothing.
p.s. we both have new ones off the store shelve.
i would go to a clear lake and try that before buying a new puck.

Thanks for the help guys, looks like my trans. sucks. it is a marcum lx-3, with zoom and all that, got it cheap, but looks like I got excited too early. I have to turn the gain up to about 8 in 30 ft. of water. not good. Do you guys think its a transducer problem?
-
I don't think its the color of the water, but its a milky cloudy, like small debris. Been the same on a couple lakes around here, only have been out with it 1 day, just got back from out of town.

Sounds like it. check the connections. Plus I no this is a stupid question. are you putting it far enough in the water?

I've tried 4 feet to just submerged. Sounds like a trans. prob.? Have any of you guys with marcums had prob's in cloudy water? They do have a 20 degree trans., so...

Thats what I woul say it is. I dont think the transducers are very much. I havent herd bad things about the marcums.
