My old friend Bill caught this nice bass on an old school version of a tip-up, which is a medium heavy action ice rod with bail open and line looped over a beer can for the ‘flag’. Hadn’t fished with him for quite a while, he brought me luck with a pile of perch and crappie but mostly pretty small. He had caught some nice pike there last week on same setup.

He ate the pike from the week before. But the bass have to be 18” here to keep, this one didn’t make it. Our third guy did catch an 18” lmb jigging a Kasty (know that’s what you’d a used) but released it before I could get over for a pic. You fished this lake before, not Harvey.

Not even close. Kept 7 perch, 3 crappie 8-9”, threw back 20 babies. Near Hotchkiss.
