independence lake washtenaw county

Has any one fished it. I am new to the area and trying to find good producers not far from my house. I hear it has good gills in it just wondering if it has any good crappie.

Went out two weeks ago and got skunked.  The park closes at dusk so unless you live on the the lake or know someone they close the gates at 6-6:30ish.  They did have a fishing tournament there not to long ago like the first weekend in Feb.

The lake map shows structure rather coducive to Crappies. If there are some here, it would be a good idea to try by the inlet and the two sunken islands right in front of it.
I hope to get in on the tourney next year, so I will be fishing it some during early ice next year. Too much ice right now to turn it into swiss cheese.
Send me a PM, and I'll keep you up-dated on results. :)
