Muskegon Ice Conditions

Muskegon lake is still open, Mona lake looks like it has a skim coat over it and should be hard soon. anyone know about wolf lake?

muskegon lake is now mostly covered in a skim coat. i have heard of some ice on the northside (snug harbor, conservation club) but dont know how safe it is. Also got reports that wolf lake has some ice on the east side that is usable. anyone else?

fished wolf lake east end before work this morning and got 2 real nice sunfish, a few smaller ones and a 13" bass. Using minnows and waxworms. Lots of jiggin to get them to bite...someone was saying there was a little better fishing if you get out toward the middle.

I felt safe after spending a little time moving around. I didnt really find any spots to worry about. There was about 5" everywhere i went. usually with this "first ice" you worry a little about thin spots. Especially when there arent a lot of people fishing an area yet. I saw a few people close to the middle though. Dont know for sure how they were doing but i guess its good ice almost all the way across.
