Well, I ran into a guy yesterday that's a pretty experienced lake trout fisherman on blue mesa. He had halfo of a wine cork on his line, and it was in the water. It was about 4-5" into his hole. He said when the lightest hitting fish of all, a lake trout, hit, the cork would move up to the surface. (lake trout take the bait from under, and just sort of suck it in, hence the added weight and no strike you get from one.) Much better than just starting to lift up and feel the added weight of a laker hit. I asked him how he got it off the line. And he showed me. He just reeled up and when the cork hit his rod tip, it flew off! This is definitely an idea I am going to try, what about you guys!
