Flip-over mods
« on: Feb 22, 2009, 08:19 AM »
I just got a flip over shanty yesterday I meant to get a pair of those hooks with velcro but forgot and theres no stores near by and I'd hate to pay $8.00 for shipping. I'm sure alot of you guy's have made some hook thingies that You can leave on without ripping the tent. Can you post pictures or just explain what you made?  Also what other mods can be made? I got a rover 1.0 Any pics of how you have yours set up on the ice would be great.
thanks

Take a hanger from the closet grab it in the middle stretch it out then fold it in a u. Will work til you can get back into town.

I have the Frabill hooks but before I got them I used the small bungees, like 6"-8". String it over the pole and hook both hooks to whatever your hanging.
I'D RATHER BE HATED FOR WHO I AM,
THAN LOVED FOR WHO I'M NOT.

thanks those are both very good ideas that will work.  Any other good ideas out there? I'm going to try and use flower pots for storing things, what else can be done to make a flip over more fisherman friendly?
thanks

I use old school shower curtain rings. They fit on the bar perfectly and easy to unhook with one hand.
Towel, radio, lantern....

Xpressman thanks. I never had a shanty before and I thought because it's black I'd need a lantern to work on tackle. turns out with the 2 windows I have plenty of light. I did hang a few heavy duty plastic shower curtains though incase the need arises.
