DIY LOTW March pike trip? Ice ?'s
« on: Jan 08, 2019, 08:20 PM »
Hi, I'm thinking about a late March pike trip to LOTW.  Am I going to be able to find fish on my own or is it best to hire a guide for a day or two?  I have a snowmobile so mobility isn't an issue.  From the research I've done it sounds like bays and river mouths in pretty shallow water is the way to go with live or dead bait.

Also, does anybody have any advice as to how the ice might hold out this year in March?  We only have around 12-13" around here.

Thanks

There will be a crazy amount of ice by then. I was driving my f250 out there over New Years on 18-20 in of beautiful clear ice. I know a great guide that really knows his stuff and loves to fish for late pike if u need a guide. Feel free to p. M. Me. If u look on our Ohio page I put some pics of what the ice looked like up there. I was up there 2 years ago in march we were driving the trucks out almost 21 miles. Extension barely made it threw.  Lol.   Mark
