Storing Bait Buckets During Transportation
« on: Dec 06, 2013, 02:22 PM »
With my 1 man it was usually pretty easy to wedge it in-between the rest of my stuff, but I just picked up a 2 man and it has me wondering. How do I keep the bait bucket from spilling over transporting to and from my fishing spots. I like Clams idea with the 1/2 gallon bucket and brace, but 1/2 Gallon buckets capacity won't cut it.

How do you guys deal with this?

I have a piece of aluminum diamond plate with a hole that fits the 5 gallon bucket. I made it so it snaps over the center bar and rests on the edge of the sled. It has never moved while I was transporting or pulling it across the lake. Prior to that I would use a bungee cord which actually worked pretty good. The key to any method you use is to have a lid for the bucket that doesn't allow any leakage.

Put the bucket inside a milk crate

place inside of a 5 gallon bucket.  I my styrafoam bait bucket fit so snug that it would break if I ever tried to pull it out.  Very sturdy and stabel now :)  Bless
