i have been playing with this design but am going to be using furring strips 1x2 inch by 6 or 8 foot and luann 6x8 foot sheets. instead of ply-wood for lightness to travel lighter.  all will bolt together like in video below. edge to edge like in video the walls will. with like a 1/4 inch bolts and t-nuts  the roof will just be slant but made just like the rest of the walls. all insulated with 1 inch thick foam.   the hole design will be about 5 foot by 4 foot square  by 6 foot tall.  figure it is big enough to heat with a buddy heater  so not to coast a lo. any ways maybe this video will give some ideas??? still have yet to finish it just started on the design last night..

The shanty I built in my posting above was framed up with 3/4" x 1-1/4" bass wood and 3/4" foam sheets glued to the frame, the panels were very stiff. The second shanty I built I framed it with 3/4"x3/4" I didn't add luan on the bottom I just framed it like the top half and used 3/4" foam, it was lighter leaving the laun off. You for sure could make these walls as one panel and bolt them together on site.

Have you had this out on the ice yet?  Just wondering how the basswood holds up to the elements being a lighter wood.  Awesome design.  Thanks for the ideas.  FF

Looks like he has ski's on it. You see the tip of the ski at the front of the shanty.

Yes, it has skis but the blocks of wood between the skis and shanty should be thicker so the shanty seats higher.
As far has weight I really don't know for sure, I would guess at 125-150 pounds. I can load it in my Ford Ranger by myself. I place one end on the tail gate and then pick the back up and slide it on. The shanty has one coat of linseed oil on all the wood and never had any problems holding up to the weather.

That is a cool little shack.  did you glue the foam in to keep in in place or cut cut it tight and it stays in.
