Want to introduce my granddaughter to ice fishing. What's the best lake right now near Carlisle, PA?

I used to fish opossum before they drained it to fix the dam a few years ago, that was pretty productive, Little Buffalo isn't a bad choice either, you also have Letterkenny which is stocked with trout, and Laurel Lake is out your way too which has trout as well, but like with any lake it may take you a trip or 2 to get on some fish but most guys are helpful on the ice and might give you a spot or 2 to try, good luck!

If you are wanting to catch fish and not keep anything, then Opossum is probably your best bet for proximity.  The only thing you can keep there is trout since they are still under restricted harvest conditions.  If you want to keep what you catch, Holman lake, Laurel, and Letterkenny would be your best bets.  Of course you could head over to York if you are willing.
