Advice with Ice shelters
« on: Jun 14, 2017, 10:45 AM »
Hi everyone,

Looking for some experience and advice with ice fishing shelters. I was looking at getting an aluminum framed skid or maybe one of the trailers w/ the wheels that swing up/skis on the wheels. Options I'm looking at look to weigh around 600-700lbs fully kitted with everything I need. I want something I can move around, easy to set up and is durable. I may pull it 10km down trails into lakes, for 3-4 day trips, and sleep in it. I have a Yamaha VK 1000 so I have the towing power. Just wondering what peoples experiences are with these sorts of skids/trailers? Any issues in the snow? Are the durable? Problems with moving them around? are there other options that I should be considering? I attached a couple hyperlinks of the skids I am talking about.
