Title: Mississippi backwaters Red wing?

Just wondering about sturgeon lake by the casino in red wing.
Is there current?
Does it freeze over regularly and does it have ice now? I need to find some ice.

I would maybe call Marty Hahn and see what he says, if not, you could fish the river at the lock. My dad just got back from there with Marty and did decent, lots of sorting.
