new rig..
« on: Jan 17, 2019, 09:39 PM »
I did my part to aid economic growth,  I traded my 2014 polaris sportsman 570 for a Can-Am 850 outlander North Addition. .
It comes with heated grips  and throttle  windshield and 3000lb warn winch, all items I added to the sportsman,  the tires are wildly aggessive, I'm going to put 3 studs in each lug, I don't think it will need chains, they'd end up buried in the treads anyway.. it also has power steering,  that already has won me over putting it on the trailer ..the footwell has cleats that I can already see useful, the overall quality of the machine is impressive, no.knock on mynpolaris, it served me well, but it's like going from a VW  bug to a BMW..here's a few pictures from setting up, I'm waiting on an adapter to put my bait well on,seeing the Can-Am uses a 2" reciever, the polar used a 11/2" reciever... with a 1600lb towing capacity getting my wares from.pipoint A to point B should be stressless.. I'll put her through her paces Saturday.

No surprise that your decision was well thought out.
Good luck with her.

I prefer the term, aggressive.  ;D
Either way, she should get you where you want to go in most all conditions.

My 2014 sportsman looked like new...it only had 345. Miles on it, all on the ice..it looked so sad in comparison, even my wife could see the quality..it says 11" ground clearance, but it looks alot higher ..it has anti theft system built in to the 2 key sd,  one is a standard key,the other is a performance key..they don't look like keys I have ever seen. .

Nice Rig Joe...that'll definitely do! You're right, Those are some nasty tires. And that clearance should really help with the deep snow and god awful slush.
Hope you have many great years on the ice with er

She's a keeper. I did that retirement thing with my 2016 Colorado paid for it in half the time so I could retire early. Always have to have a plan.

I can't say enough about the ability and comfort of this machine it is a pleasure to use. ..I ran it for 2 hours before I realized I was in  2 wheel drive, And then only because was wondering why the logo wasn't displayed  on the instrument cluster, we'll it shows if it's engaged. ..white perch bite was good from first light until about 9: 30...I spent the rest of the day like a nomad searching with tip ups and jigging,  I fished until I ran out of daylight. .never found them again

This is the first vehicle that sends me a greeting evert time I start it, the D.E.A.S
Antitheft system is digitally encoded Key set to the owner and serial number of the machine. .it says Hello Joe  each time I start it...corny but cool.

Good to hear that it met up with your expectations, Joe. Some nice whities to start your day.
It's kinda sad that life today, requires an anti theft system in a wheeler, but best to be prepared.
