New to indiana hardwater
« on: Jan 16, 2019, 09:44 AM »
Lived in indiana 2.5 years and have yet to be on hardwater.  Is there lakes known to lock up every year?

By the end of the month, you should be able to fish most lakes in the northern part of the state. This is an unusually warm year. Last year we were on ice mid December.

Keep an eye on Summit, it tends to freeze a little sooner than a lot of Central Indiana water. I was told it has to do with its elevation.

Could be gone again by then. You have to get on when the ice is ready. Nature doesn't follow our plans.
I live in the midwest now but have fond memories of fishing in New England as a kid.

If you are willing to drive north and I happn to be off I'd be happy to meet you. I have plenty of ice gear I would share for an outing
