My 10 day says 90 % chance for Saturday with significant snow accumulation. And for tomorrow it says 80% chance of freezing rain with some snow accumulation... Man this weather is good for shooting geese but that's about it !

Good news is the snow amounts are way down now. 1 to 3 inch range. High winds might actually help keep snow off the ice. It will pile up on the edge of one shore so getting on and off could be tricky. Not as cold as first predicted but still a night of negative and a few single for lows. Should get plenty ice over the next 7 to 10 days about everywhere.

Where are you seeing 1-3 inches only?  Channel 9 this morning was saying 4-10 inches in NWI area and could be worse towards the south?  I hope they are wrong. Our ice will take an impact up here. Most lakes only have an inch right now.

Let's just hope the freeze up slick and the wind keeps show off of them.

The media is wishing for 6, 10,12 + "  but the latest forecast I heard here for NWI was that we were hopefully on the west end of the storm and would likely only get 3-5" at the most.   While I love snow (at least on the weekends) I'm with all of my fishing friends and do not want it to insulate the little ice we have already built so the cold snap can lock us in to fish the following weekend.

Let's hope that these high winds will help to strip some of the snow of the ice, once the storm has past.

Just saw prediction through Sunday says 7-10 inches porter and lake counties and lake effect coming Sunday!  Not good but like everyone said maybe the winds will help out.
