Had a busy morning chasing flags from 7:30- 9:15..took a few for dinner and tossed the rest back. Turned real windy and the bite stopped..rest of the day was dead ....
Oh and watched a friend bury his Ranger in the ice..🙄

Had a few groups of rookies showing up for free fishing day so I pulled (by hand) a BUNCH of gear (multiple shelters, food, grill, extra traps, rods, etc...) out on the lake for them to use/experience....  would have never been able to do it without the smitty sled... what a difference...

Looks like you would need a mule to pull that sled I'm not messing with you Dennis.

Thanks Bill... picked a small lake not to far off the boarder and had a few first timers out there as well as some of our regulars, about 11 of us.
First timers had a good time chasing some flags and jigging up perch and bass... one kid sat on a single hole for about 10 fish... he was thrilled and will be out again.  Good food, fish, and weather... not a bad day.

Nothing wrong with fish cakes... I use pickerel if I want to make 'em.. that way any bones missed get dissolved when I fry 'em.. good eats right there!

Thanks CD... more gear than I ever want to haul out on the ice by hand (or machine) again - but the group had a good day and I was able to give one of the older shelters away (which was the plan). Would have had to make 3 trips easy (1/4 mile each way) without the smitty... and each one would have been harder than this load was with it.
