Record fish go by weight not length very nice fish though, what did he weigh. World record tiger muskie 44.26 lb that one was 52.5 inches

Idaho minimum keeper is 40 inches. State record is over 50. Still fun to catch.

When I say inches away from a world record I'm referring to this article.

The world record caught through the ice measured(from this article) 45.5 inches. Again a few inches away from the world record...Hence why in the subject I said inches away. LOL

This is why I stop posting on here. Someone always has to find fault with someone's catch. Must be jealous or something. Clearly is not a state record, but its only 5 inches away from being a state record for NY through the ice.

Yes I know that the world records go by weight not length. I get that. That's why I said nothing about the weight of the fish.

The fish weighed just over 15 pounds.

I'm done trying to prove my catch to some self proclaimed know it all "experts". For the one's who think its a trophy, thank you, it was my biggest fish yet. To the rest of the people that will bash what I said or the fish, what did you catch today? what would I envy?

I'm out!

Geez - talk about sensitive.... I'm by no means an expert but maybe you shouldn't have made the subject line what it is - unless you were joking. It's a great fish no doubt. Most (if not 95%) of us have caught a tiger that big. I, for one, have never caught one before but to say it's close this or that and then it wasn't because you might have checked the info before posting...I'm just saying you wanted congrats but you can't make statements like that and think people will take it at face value or not say something. That's just human nature...like I said, it's a great fish and I would have it on my wall but you probably could have just put a couple things and the pic...that's it. No need to get defensive about it...
