Little more done with R-board. The printer just broke now I have to wait till its fixed. :'(

I am going to like all the extra room!

Looking out the door.

I can't move it to the scale until its printed. I would guess less than three hundred pounds but close to two fifty? I will find out soon enough. The R-board is not glued in yet! I will be taking some pics of the roof printing next. Message for airplanes.

I would love to see video of how this thing folds and unfolds

Ha, I like that, my father inlaw has a couple planes and he has twice flown out to where I'm fishing, That would work well for me.

My dad is a pilot also. Cherokee 180

He has a  Piper PA11 cub with floats and skis and a Grumman Cheetah that grandpa bought new back in the '70's
The Grumman would be similar to the Cherokee, low wing 130hp

Any updates on the shanty.  Can't wait to see this thing in action and a video of you setting it up.

I was hoping to get some more pics up but I have been waiting for the printer to free up. I could glue all of the R-Board in because I have it all cut, but thats not what I want so I have to wait. I am going to unscrew all of the walls so I can glue the pieces in nice and flat. It will make the walls much stronger, and nicer looking. I didn't print a message on the top, I put a picture of a big shark with some smaller fish swimming with it. More of a joke because you won't be able to see it anyway. I will have to climb onto the roof to get a good picture.

Hope everyone has a Merry CHRISTmas!

Happy New Year! I came in to work on my shanty, the only problem is my battery on my camera is dead. I was able to get a couple of shots of the printed walls.

I still have to peel the protective film off the windows. In Michigan you don't need your name on portable shanties, so I just put my handle for Iceshanty on all four sides.

I did get all of my reflectors on all four corners. I still need to make the latch for the door, that's why you can't see a handle. I wish I could put up some more pics, sorry!

WOW :o, Your shack is a piece of art, I don't think I would want to take it out onto the lake. At least unless conditions were really good.

Let me work out all the bugs this season, then I may make plans. I am an Icefisherman first, shanty builder second. I don't build shanties when its time to fish ;D

Thanks for the comments Dave. I know you like it up there, but if you want to fish down here I will save you a seat!

I did set the thing on a scale. I will have to admit, it was a little heavier than I thought it would be. I was thinking 250 - 280. Oh well, Maybe my next one will be lighter ;D

It is still lite for an 8X8. Should be a nice place to spend the day with the family! ;D

  Michianafisherman,

Thanks for sharing your pics. Ive enjoyed watching you build for shanty. There where times I wasn't sure how it was going to look or stand when it was assembled.  All I can say is it's very impressive. Good luck on your maiden voyage Saturday.
