I checked it Sunday at the launch and there was only about 6 inches, and a stretched 6 inches at that.....the warm weather must have really raised hell on it.
Kind of discouraging, I was expecting over a foot with all the cold weather this month.

I dont drive on anyways kinda hate guys flying by on trucks to get to the other side of the lake anyways. So that 6 inches on Sunday should be 8 by Saturday this weekend.. How much snow was there though?

She has some of the best and worst ice in the state. She gets a lot of pressure cracks and tends
to freeze over unevenly. I have come close to going for a swim a couple of times.

I have been told the state will not be plowing the pull off by Devils rock. This news came out of the state garage. Vehicles over or  touching the white line will be towed.

Can confirm. We get it the south end has that nice sunken hump and that 40 foot flat around it. Sorry boys

8-10 inches of ice but limited parking, some of the state plow crew must be ice fishermen and plan on not plowing to limit access!

Fishing was slow for me there. Few hits on the south side but nothing connected. Went to the access after and still no luck. The water at the access was extremely dirty.

We also fished Willo today, slow and slower!  :) south wind is always a killer to the fish bite.

Greensborough has one. The willo store by the access doesn't have minnows yet. I will be there in the am by the launch

it was a pretty good day, 60 8-12.5" perch , 21" laker, 23" laker and 20" salmon. we lost 5 or so. worst of all I lost a 36" Fenwick elite tech medium heavy rod with a browning 3000 reel and blue heritage laker. we where 700 yards north of the access, walking of the ice in the dark was a bad idea. if any one found them it would be great to hear from you.

Yes did well today also.
4 Lakers 20-26"
1 25" rainbow.
Some decent perch off tip ups.
Trout were all caught within 45 minutes after daylight, then nothing all day!

Same here! Pete stopped by and checked our fish too. Awesome guy.  As he was asking questions we got a flag and a stocky that he suggested keeping. We landed 14 Saturday one was a LL. Saw a few guys out Friday night before midnight, and they all got slapped with a heavy fine.

I was wondering how far out from the boat access there is good ice.  Looking to head up this weekend and will have a snowmobile.  Any heads up would be much appreciated.  I have heard the entire lake is locked up but has anyone ventured way out?  Thanks!
