Just a few well know spots are:
Deseronto - access is the public park in Deseronto
Potters Creek - Access is the conservation area west of belleville
Big Bay - Access from Belleville or drive over the deseronto bridge and turn right.  There is a farmer on N Big Island Road that lets you park in his field for 5$

For lure I suggest you search out the BOQ threads on here and read up on specifics.

Good luck

Hows the ice at Deseronto? I hear the river washed away a few inches of ice. Also how is the fishing up that way. I wanted to come up there too. Where would I buy a canadian fishing license?

Not sure about the licence, we fished out of County Shore camp ground 12 inches of good ice, lots of open water near the bridge though

Big Bay ,wagers farm or Country Shores would be your best for parking if your coming from the west, could do to Potters but haven't heard much on it lately.
Anything gold seems to work for me, don't forget the minnows!!! Good Luck, bite has been tough this weekend for some (me I went 6 for 7 and a 4lb whitefish to boot yesterday)
I wonder if I make royalitys for the map....lol

Wow a whitie? That's awesome!  I assume you mean whitefish and not white bass?
