Superior outfitters in marquette will have bait this week. You can also call and place custom orders a day in advance and they will have whatever u need the next day. Any live bait.

Upper Bay is iced over from Gladstone north, checked the ice at Kipling launch(didn't venture to far out) between 1.5 and 2"  thinking it should be good tommow.
Going to try unless the wind is really bad :) Talked to the lady at Kipling bait she said there are reports of folks out at the head of the bay. Yellow gates are still closed.

Checked Kipling again today, NOT SAFE! I was just spudding at the launch not very far out it was one hit!
With that said headed north thru kipling and saw a guy out on a wheeler. Looks like he parked by the north yellow gate and drove around it.
Hard to tell from where I was but looked like open water out in whitefish channel.

Any update in Gwinn? I talked to Marty yesterday and he said 3 to 5 inches, but some deeper lakes are still sketchy and to still use a spud.... anyone been out?

6" of ice yesterday near Crystal Falls on a smaller lake but lots of slush cover.  Most lakes i saw didn't have foot tracks going more than 100 yards or so.  I spadded all over but it got more slushy the deeper i went out.
