Have to work Monday and Wednesday So Thinking I will stock up on some pans at CC

Looks like I got the day off too. Would you mind a CC newb tagging along? My favorite ice fishing is on the flatland impoundments but I've never made it out to CC yet.

Looks like I will be heading to CC in the a.m. as well. I'm hoping the ice is decent. Does anyone know CC ice condition?

I'm planning on being at west side marina parking lot at first light. White Blazer. Don't mind company at all.

Guess I should have given more detail as to where I would be parking, There is a lot North East of the Marina/Parking lot. From it you can access the path that goes across the dam, got to try out my "Wagon", and it pulled as expected, no problem in grass or sand, no problem with it rolling on the inch of fresh snow.

See Three cars parked on the boat ramp when I got there, talked to those guys, they were out about 300 yards south of me, One shelter, and a flip over looked like. Looked like the ice lost an inch, so holding about 5, although it has become somewhat water logged. I tangled with a mystery fish, took about 100 feet of line before breaking off. But mystery was solved when the top hook made it back to the hole with a scale LOL

Sigh, 6# line, but was a good dose of tug drug. Might think about re-spooling that real when targeting eyes, heard a 28 inch eye was caught south of me. And man it sure had big shoulders.

That closure on I-25 this morning couldn't have been more inconvenient. I never even made it to CC. I regrouped and met up with a buddy and we hit Chatfield for a few this evening. SKUNK!!!! Big fish marked but couldn't hook up them light bites. Heading out again tomorrow.

Wow, interesring story, Bud. Yeah, 12# fluoro with a 6# leader is my setup for chasing eyes. I don't want to loose a big one if I hook into it...or a carp.

How is the ice holding up for Sunday?

Went to Granby yesterday, -27 temps up there, to bad we haven't had those kind of temps down here. No idea about the ice, will check with guy I know was out on it yesterday.

Yeah that was brutal cold yesterday, machines barely started

Thinking of taking my two boys with me tomorrow. wanted to know if the ice is still over 5 planning on hitting the trees and the jeep. Any info would help.

Got a call back, said he went out from Mountain Loop 300 yards toward the Marina, ice was 5-6 looked good. As always, be watchful and careful.
