Rotary Derby? How the ice Looking?

I actually just heard from my brother.  He was halfway between the Weirs and meredith and had 6-8" of solid black (clear) ice.  Sounds like it's going to be good this year

Lake Waukewan had 10 inches (Last weekend, someone caught a 23" Lake Trout and a 3 pound Tagged Rainbow. Too bad it wasn't during the Derby.)

Now this must be a mistake cause waukewan has no lake trout that I know of and as far as I know hasn't been stocked with tagged trout since 2002.  Anyone know anything different?

There are no lake trout in waukewan . There used to be splake , but not for a loooonng time. .They stopped stocking taggged rainbows about five years ago. This I am sure of .

Drove thru Meredith today and there was 2 cars on the ice,not very far from the river inlet
