You think that walking a mile through six inches of slush to see three flags pop for the whole day was "Totally Worth It!"
clearing auger holes with bare hands seems a normal affair.
you spend three hours figuring out the weekly weather and how best to sneak in a trip during a storm.

When you get up at 430 to be on the ice for the am feed but getting to work for 7 is a real chore
the bait shop knows when payday is and knows you will be there even before you do.

You keep an auger and jigging rod in your car at all times just in case you pass by a nice looking pond and have a few spare minutes.
Your girlfriend/wife stops asking when you'll be fishing and starts asking when she'll see you again.

you are cruising up and down the lure aisles looking for newly discounted stuff as they bring the long rods and summergear. believe it or not...I was actually out looking for an auger extension today for my eskimo. everything is on sale and we still had 24 " of ice left as last weekend!
still looking...but i'll find one before next season!

Yep, most of those hit home alright...especially the fishing clothes being more important lol.
Every Monday is laundry and I make sure the good longjohns and socks fit in first.

your last announced day of icefishing works the same way as the "Who's" Last tour, last ever tour, really this is the last time tour, we promise you will never see us together again really we mean it tour, We have found a way to clone Keith Moon so we will just have one more last ever reunion tour tour.................. .........I saw their first last tour in 1983 at the Oakland Collusium ::).......that is 29 and a half years ago........yeah, it works about the same way......I'll stop when the ice melts......all of it....

Ahhh, very nice, a new twist on urban fishing. People look at you funny when you fish the water runoff areas around town. For some reason I never thought to ice fish them..........Hmmm, next year.

I need to find a picture of when I put a tip up out with pipe insulation on the cross pieces. Took a mushroom anchor and put a rope through the eye and tossed it as far as I could, then tied one end on the cross piece. Hauled it out and back like a clothes line. Caught nothing. This wasn't in NH for the record.

You would have to check but I think it is leagle as long as you have a line attached to it, I don't think you can leave it free form, but line to boat or shore to trap I think is legal. Maybe the Super could weigh in on this............I'm sure some others may have spirited comments also........Laugh Out

You cut two foot square pieces of plywood, glue four inches of foam to the bottom, cut holes in the center, tie ropes, and put your tip-ups in them after rigging the line spool so it will only trip the flags so you can use your tip-ups on the soft water. ;D

I keep my gear in a chest freezer that I never turned on (My Indian hunting name: vegetarian).
I figure that's a fitting place to keep ice gear. ;)

That Stewy sure sounds like a smart guy. I'm sorry to hear of your vegetarian problem, good luck with that. I like the freezer for storage idea, you don't have to worry about mice damaging your vital ice fishing gear. I keep my boots, basket and portable in my bedroom cause the mice can't climb the stairs. Have a nice day.

Visiting friends yesterday, and a commercial came on for some reality show. The guy was checking a tip up, then they showed a fish coming through a hole. I got very excited Ooh Ooh Ooh!
The comment was made to get off their couch before I peed all over it lol.
