Lyons Lake

I have never been to Lyons in the winter and thinking of trying it tomorrow. Has anyone been there lately?  Is it deep snow to walk in?  Any tips are welcome.

Was there a few weeks ago for the first time. Parked in the lot and walked down where people were fishing just past the dock in 10+ FOW.  One guy was using pcs of night crawler to catch Perch, small perch. I got a nice bite but that was it, wasn't there long though. My son caught his first fish, a nice brown.  As for the snow, it was packed down where people have walked, other than that maybe a foot or so. You really don't need to walk far though I don't know the lake either.

In the past I've done well walking out toward the rock face across the bay to the right of the dock. Used a small hook tied on with cheese flavored salmon eggs and a split shot 12-18 inches from the hook. This set up worked great on the trout. Good luck! There is a trophy in there.

If you are fishing just below the ice, is there any point bringing the flasher?

We went today and only perch.  Had a good time none the less!  Thanks for the input everyone.
