Kids Leather Choppers Mittens
« on: Feb 26, 2009, 12:12 PM »
I am tired of my 4 and 6 year old children having cold hands and going through 5 pairs of mittens a day when we ice fish and would like to get them each a pair of leather "choppers" mittens but I havent been able to find a small pair for children.

Has anyone seen these in their travels around the state or on the internet?

A lightly used pair wouldnt be bad either if anyone has an old pair kicking around in their closet.

Thanks,

Bridog

I just bought a pair for my son last week in Wolfeboro, NH, but the shop was going out of business. They were made by Kinco though, so maybe they have a site were you could find them.
Nothin' left to do but smile, smile, smile

I got a pair of the Kinco AXEMEN mittens last year for my son and they are good but the suede (instead of leather) wicks the water after a very short amount of time.  I am going to try to treat them with something to make them more waterproof but he occasionally puts them in his mouth so I cant use any harsh chemicals on them.

Any other suggestions.  I know that I had buckskin mitts when I was a kid but I cant find them for kids anywhere.
