so Ive been in the market for a new unit. Im most familiar with lowrance so was going that route and I bought my dad the pro pack elite 5 a couple years ago. wanted gps and a unit I could double for my kayak so I went big and settled on the elite 7 hdi with chart plotter and down imaging and the whole 9 yards. I know the down imaging dose not work for ice fishing but It will be fun for the yak. are any of you familiar with this unit open water or hard. looking for tips in tricks. and has anyone used the genesis feature seams theres a software down load where you can pretty where make your own charts with it. ill be doing a lot of paddling on some smaller bodies around here if its true. should be here middle of next week
