How thick is the ice on 12&3miles. Any geese holes out there? Or is it just foot traffic?

Fished 12-Mile Saturday and Sunday, Saturday 8" on Sunday 9.75" main lake is half open. We went on foot, Two groups had 4 wheelers. Fishing was at a stand still for us. Very tough... Talked with DNR their survey has show lake to be super tough for the last couple weeks.

Bringing my Dad up from Kansas City for the weekend in Creston. Any help on where I can take him (It may be his last trip ever). Life long ice fisherman, He is a Vietnam vet with mobility problems. I know the ice isn't really thick enough for a truck, so somewhere that is a close walk from parking to setup and maybe even catch a few. We fished Green Valley last year and didn't have any luck, and with his failing hips cant be mobile.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
