1st Belva Deer ice trip of the season
« on: Jan 01, 2013, 07:37 PM »
Love Belva Deer, but with a 1.5 hr drive I didn't get on the ice until 7am.  I quickly found out I missed the crappie bite that happened from about 5-7am, from my buddies, who had already iced a dozen+ each.  I ended up with 15 nice gills, some 10 inchers, and one crappie.  I guess I'll have to plan on leaving the house by 3:30am if I want to catch the crappie bite next time I hit Belva Deer...or just go to Macbride.

haha, I about crappied myself when you told me what time you and your boy left.  I thought I was hard core, I was still sawing logs at 2:30am...
