Another Mr. Heater Portable Buddy PROBLEM!!!
« on: Jan 27, 2008, 11:31 AM »
My Portable Buddy does a great job in my Shappel DX3000 set on Low!  I have installed the pilot shield, which helps with the wind!  But if I even think about touching the Heater it will go out!  If I attempt to move it, barely touch it with the ice scoop, or even drop a split shot on it, it will instantly shut down!!  Very easy to relight, but a real pain in the rear!!!  Any sure cure remedies to reduce this sensitivity????  DEERJOHN

I don't know how old yours is, but I just bought mine this year. I can hold mine on my knee to light the pilot light, turn it to low, then move it where ever I want it. As long as I don't tilt it TOO much in any direction, it doesn't go out.

John,I had one just like it,but mine was hard to relight too.It got to be a big pain in a-- so I returned it to Gander Mt. and got a new one.It works great so far, lights easy, stay on ,and get this,I set it outside the shanty(in the wind) and it still was running,I'd return it for a new one.
