I am new to tip up fishing. I currently have a couple of Frabill Pro Thermal tip ups. If you could give me some information on the best way to rig these I would greatly appreciate it? I'm mostly going to be fishing for Bass, Walleye and Pike. But if there are any good set ups for panfish those would be greatly appreciated as well.

Pretty straight forward, follow the instructions that are included with them. I have a couple of the pro thermals, and I have them setup just like all my other tipups.... 30# braid, barrel swivel, 40# floro leader w/#8 treble on end. You can make any variation of leader depending on what works for you.

I just did a gear review for the OBN and Frabill on the 10" Pro-Thermal.

I am fishing with a buddy who has a 10" auger this coming weekend. i have a bunch of these Frabill 10" round insulated tipups. I am wondering if these are going to fall thru the hole and if i should bring my stick tipups so to speak instead. I know this may be a dumb question, but anyone have an experience with this?

They float.

They will freeze in the hole and good luck getting them out without busting them up. That's the main reason I went to a 9" auger.

I have a 10" Jiffy drill and use the round tipups. I clean the holes out and pile the snow and slush to make a wind break. I check my tipups every two to three hours and have never had any problems.

I replaced mine with new Beaver Dams. Problem solved.

Frabills fit just fine in a 10" hole. Just leave a bit of a lip on your hole. Not a big deal at all. You'll figure it out quickly.

I use a 36 pound test wax nylon line for a main line and some 20 pound test professional grade fluorocarbon leader. It tip it off with a number 4 hook. Hook wise I prefer either mustad hooks or some other quality brand of hooks such as Eagle Claw.

30# braided 24" black steel leader#4 mustad dorsal finned shiner no less than 4ft off bottom. Place some split shots about a foot above connect between braid and steel leader swivel.
