Is 12 fish good for your first season I know it not over yet but i was just wondering I did start pretty late

How many times u been out most of the time 12 woiluld b good for one trip

5 times I'm a noob who still needs to improve my ice fishing but my first year I feel like I've learned a lot

Oops, had a response all typed up and realized you said 12 fish, not a 12" crappie.
Depends where you are and the specific lake you are fishing, but that's not bad.. This is a tough time of the winter for ice fishing on a lot of lakes, ice is the thickest, oxygen levels are low making fish sluggish. I was out this past week and only caught 4 fish one evening. If you get on a hot panfish bite, it can be one fish after another for hour or two. Practice ice safety, but March/late ice can be some of the best panfishing of the season.
