It's about where the red line is drawn in the pic below.

Not familiar with it enough to know, but nautical charts show Buoy 28 near the mouth as a Saginaw Bay buoy with buoy's south into the river proper referenced as Saginaw River buoy's, if that's of any help.

I was just saying that the Center Street bridge is the size/creel limit for walleye on the Bay and the River "up to" Center - I still think the river ends at/near Buoy 28 and closes in it's entirety on March 15.  Out past 28 and you should be fine, IMHO.

Are there any "No Wake Zone" signs posted anywhere out near the mouth?  MI Rule R281.709.1 states there is a slow/no-wake on the Bay 300' from the mouth of the Saginaw River - I would hazard a guess that may be posted..

I cant find what the bay is classified as?  It appears to me it is an inland water...  it is not listed as a great lakes connecting water?  Is it open for eyes year around?  I agree with BR, center st bridge is only for size/limit

Saginaw Bay is considered part of Lake Huron.  Connecting waterways are the rivers/lakes that connect the Great Lakes to each other.

I also just got off the phone with someone from the fisheries department of the dnr.  He said that the "river" ends on an imaginary line from one shore to the other shore directly across the river.
Please forgive my crude drawing, but this was my understanding.

Here's a diagram I pulled that illustrated the no wake zone I referenced earlier.  Mouth would technically be 300' in from the line extending into the Bay...

.    So it will be up to the individual officer to determine if u are in violation. If in doubt , stay a little farther out !!

I believe the line the DNR goes by is from the white buoy with the navigation lights on it, on the west side of the river across to lands end on the east side of the river, by the coal plant.

That would be Buoy 28 and would make sense.  Still interesting that there isn't any clearly defined description written anywhere - at least nothing I could readily find.

This is what im thinking it is... Bouy 28 is under that line..... The whole deal is my boat is small and i aint trying to get frisky and sink... I already know my days will be limited due to chop.... But if i can run the edge of that shipping channel where it hooks a right on a southwind day i should be ok..

DS, I would say your map is fairly close. As long as you are in a boat and not in between the land points of the river, then your good. Standing on shore, casting towards the "bay" would be necessary versus the river channel.
