But of course we go back into the 60's next week.

Oh well maybe it will be a long season this year.

It's great news as these small cold snaps we are getting early in the season will go a long way in cooling down the lakes alot quicker this year. This is first time I think I have actually been getting cold archery hunting here in PA. It is usually in 60's and 70's all season long.

It is definately getting cooler. The temp for Spirit right now is in the 40's. These 60 degree days don't have the effect that they do in the spring. The 60's will not warm the lakes that much during the day, since we have lows in the 30's and 40's.

Ed, I am jealous that you get winters off. Definately the reward for sitting in the heat and humidity during the summer. Good luck with the fishing.

I think I would be embarrased to tell you how long I have been ready. Or how much $ I've spent on stuff trying to ease da pain of waiting. Pretty rediculous really. More sub-32 weather last night...frost and skim ice. Days are supposed to be warm, but this has to chill that water down so when the snap happens, it won't take long to make 3" of good ice. I just hope we don't have that 2" of ice and then some days to melt it into a windblown jig saw puzzle like some lakes last year...not safe.

Ice addictions are hard to get thru 8)

And shantytown ur damm right we need to get the shack ready shes past due boy!
Ice will be hitting in under a month and ull still have ur thumb ugggh somewhere

LOL...what about $11k??? Had to add a Polaris 800 x2 Touring ATV. Hey! The wife says she couldn't picture herself walking across a frozen lake to some tent. Problem solved. The only thing I'm nervous about is that I've made it so easy and comfortable...she may not want to stay home.

I am planning on the Binnings tournament in Storm Lake. I have also been told that the Winterfest at Lake Manawa is January 31. I probably won't make that one.

Pretty warm today and windy. The temp at Spirit has gone back up quite a bit. We even had a Tornado Warning for a town about 10 miles NE of us. Sounds like there are chances for cold and snow the rest of the week. Crazy.
