Ok so I know its a bit early for this but man have I had it with the heat and NO precipitation this year. All I can do is sit inside and think of ICE!!!! I will start working on my new sleeper (clamx200) soon and that will keep me going till this trip. Check your emails as I have sent out the 1st of many between now and December. I changed things a little this year. Tightlines
-
Hi Guys, Thanks Matt for putting this together again this year and all your efforts with planning. Post some pictures of the progress on the sleeper when you get going. I'm looking forward to hardwater season already for sure.
Hope everyone is having a great summer.
-
Its no problem, I had to change it up a little for how I was putting the room together, as last year got a bit hectic. As usual I tied to get the most bang for the buck for the group and it was great the way they treated us opening up the other rooms. This year will still be a good time and they are going to accomodate us just the same. I will get a post going of the x200 when I get it in the garage. One thing I forgot to mention in the email was to keep the gear swap thing going again this year, so everyone should bring some things they might be willing to trade with. Now I know not everyone wants to haul a bunch more stuff up there but if theres 1 or 2 things you might willing to trade then lets keep it going. I'll be looking hard at some of my stufff when I start taking the ice gear out this year
-
Definitely ready for some cold weather. Thanks for doing this thread. I was just getting on to Start one and saw it. Looking forward to seeing all of you guys again and can’t wait for some more good times as always. Hope everybody is doing well!

Guess I dont know how to take this, I know the big fish numbers have been declining for many years but our catch rates for our group have been fairly good numbers wise and atleast 98% of the fish we catch go back in great shape. We never really have had huge amounts of BIG fish, just the one here and there. Maybe 2-3 each year :-\ Oh and on another note the peeps with underwater cameras there see a ton of fish that just dont bite
-
The fishing definitely sucks. I advise all to stay home.
-
No matter how bad the fishing is I am still going and you can’t stop me
-
Oh wait, you mean there are fish there? I thought it was the Ice Expo West with all the newest ideas in ice fishing... This is great there might be fish too......JK,,,

Let’s just say I put some skis under a lazy boy recliner among other things. Hopefully your surgery goes well! You will be missed except for in the big fish contest.

iI can see that I’m going to need to get busy with a couple of ideas to keep up with you. That Jaw Jacker idea of yours is 1st rate. Still looking for a new flip over, guess they won’t hit the stores until late Oct. New Clam units claim 50% more insulation. Might be better to wait. Love this cold weather!

Better put a tow bar on that thing!!

yes you better Gale its getting close, my x200 is 1800D which seems plenty thick to me
-
Definitely going to use a towbar. Going to try and rig up one that I already have With quick release pins. Having a really rough day today as far as pain goes. Hopefully between now and then that will go away and life will be good again. Thanks for being such good friends to me guys!
-
Hope things are going better for you today Joe, things will get better just have to give it time to heal @)
-
hey joe I say have a cold beer root beer that is. get better bro.
-
Hey Joe, do hope you are feeling better today, that first day after the heavy duty hospital meds wear off is a butt kicker, that's when you feel all that sawing and drilling and heavy duty body mod pain... something about that deep bone pain that is not good for sure, but it will get better... Hopefully you can sleep through most of that nasty pain days... Will keep ya in our prayers... Later J
-
YOU ROCK JOE ;D
-
Thanks again for the kind words guys!
-
Yeah can't wait to get fishing with you again Joe did you figure that little Lake out that you was wanting to figure out on the walleye

I actually find it funny that there seems to be some bad feelings toward ice fisherman up there. We generally have a whopping 30-40 days that Henry's is frozen before closing for 5 months, spend a short weekend there, and almost always catch and release everything. Even if it was ice fished heavily by others, I don't think anybody can clear the lake out in 30 days with a limit of 2 even if they went everyday. If we catch 100 fish between 15 of us, well over 90% will be returned promptly health and unharmed.
Second, there is no such thing as bad fishing, plus I'm really just going up there to eat, play poker, make bad bets with Joe, and enjoy the hot tub.
-
;D I completely agree Slap - it's more of a social gathering with a side of fishing thrown in for good measure. And there isn't one darn thing wrong with that. Go for it with gusto guys.
-
Hi guys! May I ask where you stay at Henry’s lake?
-
Im right there with you guys also  and what a good social gathering it is
Hi guys! May I ask where you stay at Henry’s lake?
We stay lakeside at Jareds wild rose ranch, not the best brookie area but the big hybrids and cuts are around. Travel by machine to good brookie areas is doable depending on the ice conditions from there
-
ok so I am ready for the cold weather to get here I am so ready to walk on water.
-
:icefish: :icefish: x2 bring it on. I'll have a new email out soon
-
Definitely getting excited! My leg is healing up nicely and I should be good to go. It is going to be an epic year boys! :icefish:

Is this the same Henry's Lake you guys fish?
https://www.eastidahonews.com/2018/06/fish-arent-surviving-in-henrys-lake-looks-to-be-a-very-bad-season/ (https://www.eastidahonews.com/2018/06/fish-arent-surviving-in-henrys-lake-looks-to-be-a-very-bad-season/)
Is it true that the season closes January 2 through Memorial Day? I can't see how icefishing could have a negative impact if you only get a month or so on the ice.

Yup, that's the place. Yup, that's the season. Careful studies have shown that the ice fishing doesn't have any significant negative impact. If I remember right, the entire ice season catch is less than the Spring opening weekend.
It's a special place, worth a visit if you ever get the chance.

Yes, I'm on the coast in CT. Capital of the Land of Thin Ice. As for dinner, you're on Steve, thanks!

Totally agree with you on this Steve, I'm not a seasoned veteran here but have talked with quite a few that are and the spring opener is busy for sure. Good on ya for offering up the dinner invite

I am getting excited boys! As you guys know, I have been making jigs and plastics. I have in mind to put up some sort of a contest if you guys want to. The rules would be that one of your rods would be baited with my jig and plastic. Biggest fish caught throughout the trip would receive a special prize package put together by myself. Anybody interested in such a thing? I will Make the prize a fun one for sure. Also, a guy could increase his odds by Fishing more than one pole with my baits. Most of all, I think this would be fun for me to see which colors and sizes work best for those monster trout!
-
Also, without Happy Heber coming we all might have a shot at winning. ;D
-
All right joe you talked me into it, count me in for atleast 2 rods and if I start hooking them up I'll switch the rest over
-
Count me in on this. I will be your Guinea pig 😂😂
-
OK, I'll run a pole or two with your new fan-dangled gizmo gadgets you kids come up with these days....
-
Joe im in for 3 rods. Up there i can use the help lol
-
I will get busy making some plastics What color jigs do you guys want?
-
Surprise us
-
I’m in Prospector I’m good for two rods also.
-
You know I'm always down for a good challenge Joe! I would like mine to look like an 80's neon splatter T-shirt.
Thanks,
Jonesie
-
Count me in. Looking forward to it. Glad to hear your up and fishing Joe!!
-
Thanks for being willing to participate in helping me out with my homemade tackle testing. I am excited to see which baits perform best so that we can dial them in from there for the future. Also, thanks to all of you for checking on my health condition. I really appreciate it. In the words of Nacho Libre, "I am doing good, really good!" I made some plastics today. I have been making them on the smaller side hoping that they work with the jaw jacker set ups. I poured some jigs as well and will be painting them tomorrow. I will try to get some funky ones done up especially for Chris! Looking through my old pictures, I saw one from last year that had me landing two fish at one time and it reminded me of what makes this trip such a fun experience. I will try to post some pics of the jigs tomorrow.

-
It won’t be long!
-
i just looked at the camera at henry's and there is ice :o so it won't be long and we will be walking on water
-
Curt69 put up a report of it also on the Idaho R&C board. Let's hope it lasts. The temps are not too cold today
-
Definitely looking locked up today!
-
Ok so it looks like the lake is fully locked up so let’s hope it stays and starts to grow :'(
-
Looks like the cap is still there on the cam, let's hope it stays
-
It was -5 this morning in island park I heard that there was a couple guys on ice today I did not think it would be thick enough I guess someone has bigger nuts then me
-
Im guessing they were in the outlet cause the main lake is no where near walkable yet from what I'm seeing. Guess if they weighed as much as a field mouse it could be possible. Lol
-
Pack your stuff boys looking like we will be walking on water soon
-
So you probably seen the rumor, but if not, they said the guy was fishing 1.5" of ice and he caught some fish... Man that's pretty skinny ice, don't think I'm that crazy yet... Later J

That’s way to thin for me and no I didn’t hear that ??? ??? Just crazy
-
Well I'll add a new rumor then... Sounds like there was 4" of ice yesterday and they are fishing it around the state park..... I got the rumor second hand so I can't verify this, but that's what I heard.... I did see ice on Mantua yesterday around the boat ramp for 30-50' out from the ramp... Probably won't stay, but it's a start so maybe we'll have some local ice by Thanksgiving... later J
-
Let’s hope it stays cold and we’ll be fishing here more
-
If I keep hearing good ice reports, just might have to take a recon trip! I have already warned my wife. I have some windows in Idaho Falls that need picked up and I just need an excuse to go do it. ;D Stay tuned...

Joe if you go, check the outlet... Safe ice there now.... I guess the state park is a little thin but I seen pictures of a fair group out on the ice there... So I'd think those windows could be picked up anytime now.... Good luck and stay safe... J

And post pics!

Well bought a NILS, two more Jaw Jackers, and my Dad is coming up with us this year as well! This trip is pretty much all I can think about lately, so bring it on!
I am in the market possibly for another couple poles, in your opinions, what ice rods do you feel works best in a jacker? I love my ugly sticks, but I did notice that the tips are a little flexy when set in the jacker, thoughts?

Happy to hear that your dad is coming up! When it comes to fishing rods, you might check out the ones that the Jaw Jacker boys sell on their website. Of course you could always do what really works and go with PINK. Why mess with success? ;D
-
I somehow knew there would be a reference to the Barbie poles, or should I say fish slayers!
-
Planning on being over on the 27th ice permitting.
-
Hey Slap, for the jaw jackers the "dock demon" at WallyWorld has worked great for me. Had them from my father in law and started using them on the jaw jacker when i got my first one. They are no-frill and the reels they come with are even more ghetto cheap....but the length and stiffness work great paired with the jaw-jackers. I totally admit, they are cheap...but hey, they work and I don't worry much about damaging them. Note...I think there are two versions of the "dock demon" that they sell, the ones I reference are the longer ones with spinning reels...grey and red colored rod. Oh...i did have to sand the foam butt of the rod that flares out so that it fits into the jaw-jacker.
-
Thanks, I'll see what the local wally world holds and also keep my eye out for the Ken version of Joes poles.
See you all real soon,
Slap
-
On a side note I got all set up with converting to the 8 inch NILS. Was debating on the Fuel M18 Drill or Rigid. Ended up going with Rigid since they have a lifetime warranty on the drill battery and charger. Right now if you buy the 9ah battery with charger from HD, you can get the 1,300lb torque drill free until February. So $199 + tax out the door, which as close to how much just the 9ah battery cost for the Fuel. Also Rigid 9ah batteries are going to sell for $89 on Black Friday at HD. Couldn't pass it up.

I would probably stick to the KEN version also. Thats a good deal on the drill chris, I will look forward to seeing it in action. I just sent out what should be the last email for the trip. Its sounding like the ice is holding out at 6in for most of the lake with some thicker spots in the outlet. I belive we will have around 9-10in by the time we get there if not a little thicker so that should make travel alot easier than last year. Get your stuff together cause its getting close

That does it! I have two brand new Barbie Rod’s on the man room door that have a Matt and Chris’s name on them. I think that they will be required to be used during my plastic fishing contest for those two. I will probably head up the Tuesday before the trip. Might even head up Monday after physical therapy. Thanks you guys for working so hard at your day jobs so that the rest of us can have nice roads to get to our fishing spots!
-
:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: look what you did chris, now we both get to use barbie rods!!
-
All part of my plan! Now I can fish with Joe's real secret weapon. Winning!
;D
Let's head out Monday and really show him a lesson.
-
I bought the jigging jawjacker today. Henry's will be the test
-
The Barbie Rods have nice brand new Okuma reels on them loaded with 4 pound test line. Going to be a hoot! :flex: :icefish:

Early reports look like snow while were there, what tow toys are you all taking? I'm thinking one of each.
-
Early reports look like snow while were there, what tow toys are you all taking? I'm thinking one of each.
Depends how many miles that our fearless leader wants to take us? I thought about just bringing a four wheeler, but a snowmobile might be the ticket for heading long distances over pressure ridges and sketchy ice.
-
If this weekends storm drops more than 8in that sticks I will be bringing the sled, if its less than that I will be bringing the bike. Sleds good to go and all I need to do is chain up the bike. The good thing is with that cam at the rose we will have a pretty good idea on whats needed. Your right on the extended forecast. its showing 40-50% chance of snow while we're there but like we all know I'm not counting on that until about next monday to be 70% accurate
-
Weather is sounding great ! I plan to travel up Thursday to keep an eye on Prospector. I guess I’d better change the line on my wife’s Barbie pole and bring it along for self defense.
-
Sounds like you may have plenty of company there on Thursday with the way the storms looking for next week. I think a few will be traveling that day

Nice freekin cutty! Wish I lived closer.
You are plenty close! Turn the key and will see you in a few days.
-
Those are awesome fish, however, Six inch auger is plenty big to get them through. I run a six inch kdrill and have pulled some big Lake trout at the Gorge through them.
Although, ideally, overlapping two auger holes makes it much easier to get them out.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and x2 on what glen said let's get uncle Jim talking on here so we're know he's still upright and ready for hard deck
-
If we get Uncle Jim talking on a computer that will be like we know hell froze over. He is old school. No computer. I think he still has a dial up phone, but I love him. That is why I asked Gale, cause geezer gone wild likes everything the new age. You know what I mean? The latest and the greatest he has it. Yes Happy Thanksgiving to all! Lets go out and kill some fish! Tight lines HH

Man those are nice fish! Thanks for sharing! Next weekend can’t come soon enough. I got the four wheeler all ready to go this afternoon and now it looks like the snowmobile is in order.
-
Gail is Uncle Jim going to make it with you? Was just hoping he is still getting out on the ice. ;)
i let him know that everyone was asking about him, he will make the Cascade and possibly Flaming Gorge. Actually he has moved up to a flip phone lol. May have to start up to Henry’s Wednesday to give me plenty of time to get there.lol Everyone able to breath after the feast yesterday? I should be able to go four days before needing to eat again. Hope our military brothers and sisters overseas had a good peaceful Thanksgiving!
-
Ok I was just checking to see. I might have to give him a call and see if we can go up and catch some tigers like we used to. Up to mammoth. I learned a long time ago to quit betting with Jim. Me and my kids have a lot of fond memories of Ice fishing with him. The guy would definitely give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Besides that we gotta get together and reminisce about how tough my job is at Redmond LOL Yes I hope our over seas military brothers had a good Thanks giving. Because without them we couldn't do what we do or have what we have. I'd like to thank each and every one of them that read this post for their service. If I could thank my Dad's one more time we'd have a hell of a party. It's true you don't miss something till it's gone. You guys have a good time up to Henry's I'll have to get my priorities straight so I can be there next year. Thank you to all my Ice Shantys friends. I love the ice fishing brotherhood we share. Tight Lines. Catch a big one. HH

I got 99 problems and a hip ain’t one! Getting excited boys! My gear is just about locked and loaded. Almost time to turn and burn. I feel for the fellas that won’t be with us this this trip! Definitely going to be the greatest Henry’s excursion that has ever been attempted by this great group of fisherman. Don’t worry guys, we will take lots of pictures. :woot:
-
Matt, Just wondering if you are set up to use Venmo so that we can get you paid. Thought I would post it here in case you do so that others might be able to pay you that way
-
Oh know im not that tech savvy, we'll just do as normal and I'll give Kevin a list of the ones in our room to mark off as they come in. Kevin might do venom. Good to hear your hips finally cooperating with your activities. Talking to madplumber today it sounds like the drifts are getting up to a foot, a little less in other areas on the ice so both machines should still be good. Im bringing the sled
-
I decided to load the snowmobile up last minute. Heading out in the morning. Look forward to sending you guys some good pictures! Be safe everyone and looking forward to seeing you guys very soon!
-
Be safe Joe. Definitely looking forward to all the pictures. ;D
-
Safe travels Joe. Don't rub our noses in it to bad.
-
Be safe joe we’ll see you Thursday and send all the pics I cannot wait to get there
-
Safe truckin joe we'll see you soon, send all the pics you want as it will feed my fish porn addiction until I can get there and make me want to leave earlier than we've already moved it up ??? :-\ @)
-
Oh man it's going to be a long week waiting to hit the road and head north... Look forward to seeing you guys on the hard deck... Joe, get them all located for us... Later J

Hope you have a great trip over there and that you will be safe. I'm probably the only one in Israel interested in ice fishing reports! Lol.

Oh yes im sure of that, wouldnt be much of a market over there on ice gear. But if there was the sales and clearence sections would be a blast. Be safe and get back state side so we can get a line in the water Glen. We're lookig at being up your way to fish with joe around the 1st weekend in march
-
Ok so 1st on ice report has 2in in the west marina (kiddie pool) which is weird, 7-8in in the east marina, 8in on the main lake out of the east marina. The pressure ridge out of the east marina has been broke down and should freeze up well by Thursday. Snowmobiles can make it over no prob. The beach access we used last year of course has some docks in the way that we may be able to move like last year for wheeler access. If we can't move the docks the only access will be across the ridge out of the east marina so some planks will be needed. More to come
-
Our top notch scout (Joe) is safe and sound. He's arrived and is setting up for the night and said he'll send some more reports as needed.

Glad to hear that Joe is there and safe. I will throw some plywood in to use if needed to get across the ridge. I plan to head up on Wednesday morning if I can wait that long.
-
That will work Gale bring what you can, from what I got we should have no prob pushing the dock a little to make room to get thru over to the beach area. Will probably have to do it Friday morning though. Trying to do it after dark when we more than likely will get there might not work. Sky has a new to him winch on his bike he's ready to try out
-
Thanks for all the well wishes guys. I caught a few small fish in the tent this morning, but they are nothing to write home about to mom. I got my jaw Jackers out and just waiting for the bell’s now! I will keep you guys posted. The pressure Ridge that I knocked down yesterday looks to have frozen pretty good last night. Not sure I would take a four wheeler over it yet, but it should be good by the time you pencil pushers get here.
-
wo! wo! slow down for a min. Some of us are more of the technical keyboard typer types, people still use pencils??? ;D
-
Finally getting the fish dialed in. This afternoon was pretty good jigging in a tent. Jaw Jackers have been slow. Tomorrow I will bring another tent out to a new spot and see what that produces. They are all over the screen right now, but just don’t want to commit. Very frustrating! Hopefully in a couple of days they will get out of their slump. I think it is time to retire the Barbie Rods. I lost a couple of five pounders at the hole today. Just not enough to drive the hook home I’m afraid.
-
Thanks Joe for the report. Hopfully tomorrow those 5LBs come up and on the ice. I think we can see your tent on the camara.
-
That’s to bad Barbie didn’t work out for you maybe you should have gotten Barney lol ;D ;D hopefully things get better today and Matt showed me your chair and all I can say is nice
-
Well thats to bad the pink had to stink for you joe, not the 1st time thats happened to some of us that have been around the block a few times ;)2 ;)2 couldnt help showing the comfy living room you had set up with the firepit, roasting dogs, kicking it in the lazy boy reading a good book :roflmao: :roflmao: Good stuff. Hope the hooking is better in the new spot today. Looking at the cam this morning it did snow a little last night by whats sitting on the old gas pump
-
Just thought I better give you guys a snow report. Might’ve gotten about 6 to 8 inches last night. Probably more like six. Right now there is between 10 inches and a foot of snow on the ice. For wheelers or sleds should be fine. Had good luck with fish this morning. Still catching some brookies which is surprising to me over here. Nothing of any size today yet. Catching them on some of my homemade presentations! To whoever is traveling today, stay safe! Ryan is coming up and will be there in a couple of hours. Not sure when Geezer is supposed to be here? Anyone else coming today?
-
Thats about what I was guessing was on the old gas pump there this morning. Looks like your making tracks over that ridge really good now that you got it stiffened up. Crazy the small brooks are in there. maybe I'll check one off the bucket list this year. LOL. Good to hear your homemade stuff is working cause I've got plenty of rods to load them up on. To my knowledge just Ryan was traveling today then the biggest group tomorrow and the rest on friday. I'll give you a call after i'm opff and see how its going. Be safe and leave some fish for the rest of us dang it
-
Today was a great one! Fished with one rod because I was lazy, but it ended up working out just fine. The fish came in three different waves. The first was about 830 in the morning for an hour and a half. The second was right about 1130 until 2 o’clock. The third was from about four to 7:00 PM. The biggest thing for me today was a good rod with a sensitive tip because they were lite biters. Most fish work Caught without bait on plastics that I have made. Yellow and pink were hot colors As was Glow. I only caught one fish over 25 inches but there were some pretty good ones as well as quite a few small Brooke trout and cutthroat. Ryan and Gail both made it safe. Ryan caught quite a few fish tonight. You guys be careful driving up tomorrow and the next day! Looking forward very much to seeing you all again. We moved some of the docks that were in the way and getting machines on and off the ice won’t be a problem. Both snowmobiles and four wheelers will be fine. There is quite a bit of water under the snow on the ice especially in some areas. Might be a good idea to check the ice as conditions warrant.
-
Great update Joe, nice to have you there figuring things out for us... 25" is a dang nice fish.... So stay safe and we'll see ya soon... Had a bunch of snow over Sardine tonight, so I think Thursday Friday may be a fun drive, but we'll leave early so we have time to get there safe... You using your camera, or fish finders to tell what's going on? See ya soon... J
-
The drive up was pretty good not much more than wet roads. Going to get cold tonight , watch for ice. Drive carefully and see you up here.
Geezer
-
Thanks guys we’ll see everyone later today and leave some fish for me ;D
-
I haven’t used my cameras yet. Just a fishfinder. Safe travels Boys!
-
From about 515 to 6 o’clock this morning I have seen seven fish on the ice. Ryan is learning the struggles of having slept in a nice cozy tent on the ice! I’m not sure he’s even out of bed yet. LOL Gail just showed up and hopefully he will get the fish turned on as well. I’m fishing with the 1/8 ounce yellow plastic that I call a cutthroat combo. Knocking them dead! Hurry up Boys, I need reinforcements quick! :icefish:
-
They're not making it any easier waiting to get on the road. Sorry ryan had to show off the beauty you got this morning. See you guys soon

Have a fun and safe trip boys! I'll be waiting on the pics!

OK...safely back home from fantastic trip to Henry's. Thanks for all the great times to those that made it, and hope more can join the pilgrimage next year.
Caught a huge fish that would have smoked the competition...but caught it the day before it was eligible. Congrats to SlapTheFish for taking home the $$ pot with a win by catching another lunker Saturday. Fun times for sure. Also got to take the new sleeper flip-over and the new to me quad for their maiden voyages and am very happy with both. Will make a few small tweaks to the flip over in prep for sleeping at the Gorge.
Looking forward to the other pics from the gang when they get home tomorrow, but here are are few of mine.
Thurs afternoon shortly after arriving.

Friday Afternoon...had to squeeze it a bit to get through the hole then into the measure box that BFTSkunkedAgain helped me measure it in. Glad he was there to witness it too so that the world can know it wasn't just another "fish story". released her back for someone else to catch later.

Damon, hey words and the pictures can't describe the beauty of that fish, I was so lucky to be there and see that thing fighting down under the ice, what a monster fish it was... I always heard an 8" hole is big enough for anything.... Not so sure about that anymore since you had to squeeze that fish through the hole to get it out... What a beauty... What a great trip too, I thoroughly enjoyed it again this year, just sorry I missed the show of checking out everyone's modifications, seems I dropped the line in and fish started biting right off the bat, I ended up so busy catching fish that I didn't get to see many of the cool mods and work everyone had been doing... Biggest regret of the trip, but I sure had fun catching fish and those jigging jaw jackers seemed to work pretty well. Although most of the fish I caught was off the active rod I was jigging myself, the jjj's did pretty well too... Very fun trip and weather worked out okay as well... Thanks everyone and enjoyed the visits... Later J
-
Great weekend everyone, thanks to all that came and made some good memories. I'll get some pics up tomorrow

Thanks to everyone for all the help and great times. This trip really was a fantastic one . Was personably my best for catching fish, lots of planters and even a couple of big ones. Congratulations to Slap the Fish for winning the pot! And to Damon for that beautiful lunker of his. Thanks to Joe for all the great plastics he passed out ( they catch fish ) and Matt thanks for the book of pictures it’s a real treasure. Hope to see you all at the Gorge!

We had a great trip as usual it was good to see everyone and catch up and catch fish. I've got a few pictures I'll post asap
-
Ok so I finally got a few pics to put up. Between me and my bro-inlaw we pulled probably 50 fish over the weekend with only maybe 8 of them being larger than all the dinks we all were catching. I'll start off with my bro-inlaw who had a blast on this trip. He had only been icefishing maybe a handful of times and was amazed with all the set-ups everyone had. His biggest fish came in at 21"

Sorry man. I just have a really bad addiction and a really good wife!

Hahahahaha! I was thinking the exact same thing Ryan. I'm lucky if I'm on a decent foldable chair instead of a bucket!
Prospector has hit hit, a recliner, shelves, caribiners cor hanging stuff, all the necessities to eat right, etc!

If I’m going to watch everybody else catch the biggest fish, I may as well do it in comfort.

hey musky thats an awesome setup on your jaw jackers. which bubble box is that? does it work fine in super cold temperatures? thats a fix that i like more than putting some sort of cover over the hole. i see a bubble box on amaon for 9.99, i wonder if thatll work.
also, do you have any fixes for blowing snow or freezing triggers? a problem i have with my jaw jackers is the snow will blow over the jaw jacker on the trigger and then melt and freeze making the trigger stick. i find if it gets wet pretty easy when there is wind, and there is alot of wind in wyoming :)

Mines actually a different box I got at the bargain cave here when it was open but my friend uses the bubblebox and they work just the same here's a pic of the ones I have with my modified coat hanger/ zip tie set up. Not much we can do for that WY wind other than keep the hole clean and trigger dry. They are susceptible to freeze up as is every hook setter

Great video joe I finally got to watch it all in full tonight. Gotta say your the only man I know that leaves town with 3 tents fully loaded. That Gina rod worked great , good thing she keeps you set up with the best equipment while your comfy. Lol never gonna forget that lazy boy. I should have stuck around camp more this trip but the good ice was too good not to explore a bit.
No matter we all got our face time in at the room each night for sure and/ or lost a few $$ in poker. Best hand back + $5 I've ever had. Those that seen it know what im talking about. WHO honestly gets 5 flush's in 1 night. Not this guy, just 4 t.o come in 2nd
-
Great video Joe. The list is way too long of cool things you have. However the Gina rod and rockin in the recliner are definitely tops on the list. I sure hope you remember us all when you go viral!! High five to your production crew on putting together a great video they are top notch!

Great pics Joe! That trip will go down as one of the most memorable, even with having to change both bearings on my trailer on the way up, and the welds on the trailer giving out on the way back, there isn't anything that could have ruined my week. Thanks to all the fellas that stopped at Malad summit to help figure out the situation fast. Luke helped me weld it and get it off the trailer two days later and besides needing redecking, I think the trailers ready for more abuse. Man those special plastics Joe made were awesome, I look forward to using them wherever I can. Thanks again Joe for the wonderful side prize package and the winning rig.
And of course thanks most of all to Matt for running logistics and keeping this trip alive. Look forward to next time.
Cheers,

Couldn’t help myself and went back for more! Hope your new year is grand!

Definitely alot more "W" then when we were there. Looks like a great trip and you got the big one. How long was it? Did you get a weight?

Wow Joe, great fish and awesome video. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures! Totally cool.. It was cool to see Wade (pic) it's been at least 25ish years I'd bet.
-
Sure appreciate everything you guys! It was good to have Wade pop in. I was checking my phone in the middle of the night at about 3 o’clock in the morning when he told me he was on his way! That was a great treat. I think that might have been his biggest cutthroat ever. He was very happy! Happy new year to you guys!
