Ice Conditions Sault ste marie elliot lake area

Good afternoon folks,

Just wondering if anyone has been out checking the ice thickness lately been stuck at work  haven't been able to get out and see for myself!!

Going North of Elliot this weekend, there was some traffic on Lauzon on new years day in front of camp, little early for me on such a big lake as there was just a inch or so the week before i will post when i return.

About 6-8 inches of ice on the smaller lakes we traveled and making ice fast with the cold weather it was minus 27 up there Saturday morning.

Was up around Ranger Lake area this past weekend , most areas seemed to have about 8 inches of solid ice along with some slush, fishing was mixed but all had a good time.

Fished Cummings lake (north of Thessalon on highway 129)  yesterday. 12-15 " of ice. Two permanent shacks and 4 portables as well as pple without tents. Chub lake and Wakomoto are further North so should a;so have good ice

Not good. We broke a 37 year record for high temp in the Sault . Almost +8 C (High 40'sF)

  Going up north of Elliot Lake this weekend i will post ice conditions we will mainly stick to smaller lakes with the weather we have been experiencing.

3 inches of ice at Chubb Lake, near Wakomota. North on 129 from Thessalon.

Fished north of Dunlop yesterday lakes had about 5-6 inches of black and 2-3 inches of white, they are traveling Dunlop for sure and someone told me they are on ten mile as well.
