ITS time to make plans to attend the 7th annual kids ice fishing clinic.
It has been a lot of fun.
226 kids fishing last year.
The date is January 19th, 2019
9:00am- 1:00pm[ sign up 8:00am-9:00 am. Frenchtown pond.
The cost is $5. 00 each or $15,00 family of 4 or more.{ I hated to start charging but it's costing me more.]
The ages are 16yrs and under.

Was out there Thursday 12/13/18 about 3-4 inches at the dock to the west. But east of the dock looked a bit thinner so we stayed away from there. Most recent news I have :thumbsup:

Can anyone tell me how the ice is doing on Frenchtown Pond?, nothing in reports .
The clinic is getting closer, lots of people calling for info.

Ice is 4". No open water. Some snow (2"). Cold nights will help a bunch.

have had kids Canada wanting to know if they can fish the clinic, Told them COME ON DOWN.
This is a great time for the kids, [no name calling, arguing or bickering like some folks]
Expecting about 225 young fisherpersons.

Getting more responses from out of town [Utah, Washington, Idaho and Alberta]
This clinic has sure grown, I'm glad there are this many kids who Ice fish or at least want to try It.
Beats video games and cell phones.
Nothing like the great outdoors to bring families together.

What kind of bait, how much and when do you want it. The day before or the morning of?

I could come early and help drill holes if you want.

I was attempting to purchase a quantity of bait and have it delivered since I wasn't able to make it. Looks like you can buy that amount anywhere. Excuse my offer.

The weather can't always be perfect, at least there is ICE.

Another clinic is in the books.
Had 1052 kids on the ice.
Lots of fish caught and the weather was great.
Here is a recap, big fish boys div 15" bass, Girls div 12" bass, small fish boys 1 3/4" perch, girls 2" perch.
All the kids caught fish and fun was had by all.
I would personally like to thank all the volunteers for all their help, event wouldn't go on without you.
ALSO a big thank you to all the great Sponsors.
Planning on another clinic next year.
Thank you also to all the kids that came out.

Fp1 - my son will be 3.5 next year. Hope to sign up. He loves fishing, but I thought he’s maybe a bit young for ice fishing this year. But it’s game on next year!

Could you use these I bought an ice runner and dock runner combos and replaced the reels
Basically new (did cast them a couple times)they work ;)

We were wondering, is Feb 1 still the date planned for the derby. We are planning on coming up from Belgrade and want to make sure we don’t miss this

The Date is FEB 1st, 2020.
Sign up 8:00am-9:00am, short meeting and lets fish.
We will be on the west end again by the pavilion.

This has been a great event to put on for the kids.
Beats the H*** out of video and electronic Games.
I like to see new faces and the kids that have been there before.
It wouldn't be possible without the volunteers and the great sponsors, please support them.

Have you tried asking around Missoula? Having worked at Home Depot during college, there's a lot of leeway as far as mark-downs are concerned. I would suspect the managers of Bob Wards, Sportsman's, and maybe Cabela's could be convinced to provide some.

Concur with Slickice. Poked a few holes, 5-6" of ice. 3-4 clear the rest not clear. No slush really, just the remnants of the last snow. No water pushing up. Took six good pokes with the spud to get through.

Pray the ice holds in there.
Next week is a slight cooling trend with less rain.
