Minocqua Area Lakes

Has anyone been out to check the ice conditions today? Rain probably ruined lots of ice.

I live near Tomahawk (25 min South of Minocqua)...we are currently at 40F now with heavy rain a good portion of the day.  I'm guessing whatever ice did exist is not doing well...talk of 2-4" snow tonight but no "good ice temps" forecasted for the next 5-7 days.

Minocqua cancelled CruiserFest for February. The Chain is looking pretty thin.

Got out on Lake Alice in the Tomahawk area.  4-5".  Probably 100 people out in one 40 acre area.  Ice was cracking when the few people with atvs, snowmobiles, etc drove by.  Willow and Spirit flowage apparently have fishable ice.  Predicting highs of 10-15F early next week.

Over the past week + we've had very cold temps.  -20F air temps for lows to 0F for highs for a few days... back in the 20s now but we got a lot of ice made over the past couple of weeks.  Alice is now 10+ inches so I assume Nokomis just a few miles away would be the same.  As always, know where you'd be driving, watch where others have gone that know the lake, etc
