Title: Curious about Blackfish
Post by: broomballboy on Jan 15, 2004, 03:02 PM
Is anyone willing to share their ideas on how and where(what parts of the state) to catch blackfish?  I can't find good information anywhere.  I really would just like to see one.  They seem quite fascinating.

I haven't yet tied to catch them, but want to for bait.  I hear they make excellent bait.  ballaine lake, right by the university has them.  A minnow trap with shrimp in it is said to work.  Also when dissolved oxygen levels in ponds drop they can be drawn to the surface of a drilled hole.  I mean to try to catch some sometime, but i don't think they would make sportfishing fare.
