Does anyone know if any ice is starting to form at the south end? Thanks!

You could try calling Doc's in Honeoye.  I'd say it's early yet, the wind was pretty wicked, and reports for the little ponds in WNY are that they are just freezing.  585-229-2277

And, yes, it does seem that early fishers are getting tight lipped.  I could see it on some small pond but Honeoye is a pretty big lake and with the new Sunfish limits down there, it would take a LOT of people to fish it out.

1" on the North end this morning, my brother lives on the West side and said he has the same, a friend lives on the East side and said it is pretty thin. Wind should blow the snow off today and help build some ice over the next 5 days.

Same here. I was there at first light looking. One guy was spudding his way out.  I spudded out about a hundred feet and the spud went through 3 times.  That was all I needed to see.  It will not be really safe tomorrow either. There are people out but not this old guy.

We backed off today after finding too many 1" thick areas. Sure we want to soak some waxies, but not all at once.
