Yes I took my 5 year old twins fishing last year, they both stepped into a 10 incher and they are still alive.
Slightly ducted tape from their behavior, but alive. Thats another story!

They fished the whole day and looked more carefully for holes on the way back!
Hey when we go up to canada, we drill four hole together for the bait basket and it works great.
The hole is marked with pine branches, if you see them its not a prime spot indicator!
