Man I am soooooo close to putting a pin up! I have 2" of solid ice at the lake where the river goes out (backed up, dead calm). Another couple weeks of this and I'll be on the solid stuff!!!!
It's funny how you southerners always acuse us of rubbing it in, yet in April you guys are showing off pics of your first fish of the summer, while we are still waiting for the ice to go off the lakes.
It is starting to drop down in to mid 20's at night, but then its in the high 40's to 50 during the day...As much as I like Fall for hunting, I could skip past and go right to Ice fishing.
It is getting close to that time... I am hoping to be out on the hardwater in 4 weeks or so!
I am going to try to attach a map from the NOAA website that I use for work. It tracks Snow / Ice for North America. There are two images, the first from October 29th and the second from November 1st. The snow and ice is on its way. If people are interested I can try to post one image a week, I will be using them anyway.(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)
Mike....thanks! What NOAA link did you use?
How do you add a lake that's not on there?
several lakes here have fishable ice but i can't figure out how to add, haven't been out as am sick with a cold, but am going tommorow hell or high water, there are fish biting and the tip-ups are ready. PS it was -17 C last night!!!!!
