Some people use their real name, some use something obvious, and others have a story behind it. Tell me why you picked your user name on this board. ???
Me? I picked my favorite overall lure for panfish, named after the Systems Tackle Techniglo Fat Boy. 8)
...it also seems to fit my stature according to my fishing buddies! >:( ;D But not next year, this Fat Boy is going on a diet! I don't need the extra weight when getting on new ice next year...

About eight years ago I got Div. later my cousin and I were working together and he told the joke of how the indian boy got his name. You know the one about twodoggsf**king, any how after the div I got it. and so the full name is twodoggsf**kedoverbyeveilshebear. or twodoggs for short. Lesson learned do not fall for eveil she bear and the old ring dang doo. ;)

I run the website for our local fishing club (check it out @ http://www.kneedeepclub.org) and saying contact the "webmaster" if you have any problems sounded lame to me so I made it Webguy and it has become my nickname in the club.

Some friends from the city were out here in the boonies of northern Alberta on one of the best walleye lakes in the northeast fishing with me. After a "few" wobblies, and a mess of walleye and perch to clean, the comment was made that "you bushbunnies have everything up here".

I really didn't pick my name as much as it was given to me. I enjoy the outdoors and don't mind being by myself - sometimes it's a blessing ! There wasn't anyone in my family who really fished, hunted, etc.. So twenty some odd years ago when I started ice fishing, bowhunting, flyfishing, etc. I was an oddity and really didn't have anyone to enjoy the outdoors with. Friends and family started to say I was like a "lone wolf" (hence the name). I would go off into the woods in the morning with a compass and my bow and return at night hopefully with some venison. The same would go for ice fishing and fly fishing. Sorry this went on so long but that's the story.

Until recently I spent 95 percent of my driving (riding) time on my motorcycle. 12 months a year, rain, shine, snow ! Biker Mike was what the people at work called me and the tag line stuck. I use it for almost all of my internet ID's.
Perhaps when I get older and need to ride a rocking chair I'll get a Honda Goldwing trike with snow tires and then I can use a bike to carry my ice fishing gear too.

I got named the eyedoktr about 20 years ago. It was a takeoff on Bass Professor (Doug Hannon). walleye professor just didn't sound right. It came from my endless pursuit of the wiley walleye. 200 plus days a year and a full time job. You guessed it, no wife either.

YEARS ago when I first got the internet I was trying to make a hot mailbox email account and watch Mystery Science Theater at the same time. I tried variations of my real name and other things and got really frustrated after 2 hours of 'username already registered'. The movie I was watching was 'Surf Nazis Must Die'. I ended up using Surf Nazi which ended up snazi after some sites wouldn't let me use the whole handle. I get attacked by hebrews alot because they think I'm a nazi-LOL!!! In real life I raise ducks on my farm and live 15 minutes from the bay. I'm a chest freezer man. If I don't have a freezer full of venison, perch, salmon and duck by spring the year has been a flop. I'm looking forward to the sucker run now. Smoke em slow & cold and they beat herring, salmon, whitefish, etc...

I've worked on various rescue squads for about 17 yrs. About 10 yrs ago I was laided off for the winter so I was pulling alot of daytime call time for our unit. Rather then waiting around for a call, I would spend my time jigging at a lake about 2 miles from the squad building. When a call would come across the pager I'd grab my stuff and run to the car and head out. One day one of the regulars finally asked me why I would just out of the blue grab my stuff and run to the car and leave (they were starting to think I was kind of strange!) They started calling me Rescue Cal (Cal being my first name). The name stuck!! ;D :D ;D

Wellll, it's like this. I'm ALWAYS snagged on the bottom of the lake while fishing. Friends told me I mastered the art of being snagged. Hence, the name snagmaster. ;D

Well, it goes like this. My nickname is Mo and I used to call my friend, Nick, and his son would answer. His son was two or three years old and he knew my voice and he knew I fished, and he knew why I calling his dad. He would say, "Mo fish?" and I'd say, "yeah, what about your dad?". So I put it on my license plate and it sounded better 1mofish so it would fit on the license plate. But there's a caveat to that, so many times, at the end of the day, trying to get our limit, if somebody would say 1mofish, well you can only guess what happened! Good catching!

Well its like this.I get alot of calls to trap nuisance animals and the customers when they see me coming always call me Trapper or Trapper-Dirk.Dirk being my first name. Way I look at it, call me anything but late for dinner. :-/

This was a great post to read! Mine is not too imaginate, its a cross of my first and middle names Ken Ellsworth. When I was young, and friends found out what my middle name was (kids are brutal) they started calling me Elz.

Smelt1, I use this name because we icefish alot for salt water smelt. After comming home from along day of fishing the "BOSS" would say,"Boy do you smell" hense the name Smelt1. My mustang GT convertable also has the same plate. Also when my two boys were young I would say to them,"I can smell them fish". They would tell thier mother,"Daddy Smelt1".She would allways correct them."No boys, its daddy smells like one". :)

I have about 15 + of those lures... They are almost the only lure I use during the summer, I fish em in calm, wavy, sunny, cloudy, shallow, deep whatever. Dont think I have ever been skunked using one!!! Can call fish from as deep as 20 ft.

Took on this identity about 10 years ago when the internet was just taking off. Started out with "Icehole7". I had to put on my favorite number (7) due to "Icehole" already being taken on AOL. (Is that suprising?) Anyways, I forgot my password and could never use that identity again and looked for another and came up with "Auger7". Again, "Auger" was taken. I have to admit I have had some raised eye-brows from people after hearing my screen name. I guess ya just have to be an ice fisherman to understand... ;)

Mine is just what I use on other fishing sites. It originally came from chatting on IRC. A friend of mine used Ice Maiden one day so I ised BlackIce since we had freezing rain that day.

I picked mine because one day my brother and I tied into a mess of jumbo perch. It was one of those days when you didn't even have to put bait on your hook and they were all 11" and better.

Spoofer was my nick name when I was growing up as a Kid. I new it was something that I could easily remember. Plus I figured it kind of sounded like a good fishin' name. I used to use other names on message boards, and still do on ones that I have been on forever, but I thought it would be nice to use the real thing in boards that I might actually run into people in person.
So if you fish lake Butte Des Morts in Wisconsin, and you run into a guy with this "handle", say hi, and offer him a cold one.

Well I didn't want to sound to over confident with a title like WalleyeSlayer, Plus when I'd come home with no keepers from Mille Lacs I would tell my wife I was just stalking them. Have had the title 22 years now.

Live in the Finger Lakes area of New York state and can't wait for the hard water. Love fishing the finger Lakes area, at least 30 places to ice fish all with in an hours drive, but the best spots are closest to home.

I have been involved in various rescue squads/rescue units for about 16 years. I'm an EMT, Certified Ice and Cold water rescue instructor, and a diver with our Dive Rescue & Recovery team. 12 or 13 years ago someone called me Rescue Cal. At the time I was full of Pee and vinigar and volenteering for every class and task out there, the name stuck!

Long story short I hunt with only a few arrows around 3. I shot a nice 10 point, 1 arrow down, marked blood trail with another arrow, 2 arrows down, then found the buck and he was not happy. He started to charge me and i shot him with my last arrow at minus 5 yards.

My name was given to me by my friends in Canada. About fifteen years ago I made my first winter trip into the Canadian bush to fish lake trout. I was ten miles deep in the bush by snow machine, while checking the ice on foot for a safe crossing area I fell through the ice and was completely submerged. I managed to climb out and travel another ten miles into the bush to a trapper I had been told about. He took me in and helped me get dried off and warmed up. Two years later I spend several nights in the bush at -40 to -60 temps staying in a small trapper shack with an old barrel wood stove. I have been going to the bush every year since then and have earned a reputation of someone you want with you when things go wrong in the bush.

One day while duck hunting three woodies flew in undetected behind some bullrushes. I decided to jump out of the boat into the ankle deep water and jump them for my buddies I ended up to my neck in swamp muck. When found the site and decided to join my two Scotties were fighting at my feet over a rawhide bone. My wife and grown daughtes say I love my dogs more than them to which I say sure. My dogs love to ice fish, watch football, never complain about my pickup truck, like creamed pickled herring and beer and like me as I am. The family calls me old 2 dogs so used it here.

Every fall a group of us fish for walleyes and we always try to out fish each other. We kind of keep track of what we catch for about a two month period. By the time deer season rolls around (rifle) we are done. The person with the most fish gets the crown (IT DOSNT EXIST). It is not really a fair deal because the other guys only fish half as much as I do but remeber the crown dosnt exist. Anyway two years ago I had a very large lead and on the last night we fished that year I caught a 31 inch walleye. About a week later a guy who dosnt fish with us but listens to our stories said that fish would make you the 31 King.

it's my username on everything.. some chick wanted to know my middle name (carter) and I wouldn't tell her ::). She asked me for my initial and of course I said 'C'. so she started calling me gairC.. well happened to be in a pub :) and everybody around her heard what she said.. and down the line it went until the bartender started calling gairZ... and it stuck.. just a nickname... that has withstood the test of time... like all. For years my fishing buddies and I would go to Ft. Peck in Montana or lake Sakakawea in North Dakota or the Missouri river in South Dakota these were major endeavors for us. We would spend 5 days to 10 days on the ice.
So saying that. When we would talk each fall about where to go. I would say " LETS GO FISH THE BIG ICE"
Lots of great trips and quality fish came from those trips to the BIG ICE!

When my buddy and I fish the ice, I get so many more flags than him, no matter what he does, that he says I must have sold my sole to the devil and that I am an evil little creature. I am 5'-7" and he is 6'-4" so he started calling me the Ice Troll. The name stuck.

Well, I'm kind of a geek or nerd I guess, although you wouldn't ever know by looking at me as I appear somewhat normal, BUT I am surrounded by some of the biggest geeks on the planet on a daily basis. I'm finishing up my Ph.D. in semiconductor physics, and will be done in May of this year, and I love to fish, especially on the ice, so IceGeek seemed like a natural screenname, plus everyone says I over-analyze everything, which is probably true.

I fish for huge walleyes during last ice, March/April. I caught a 14.5 lb. in 1999 and a 12 lb. the following year. The 14.5 walleye won the In fisherman contest divison 5 area (all of the great lakes) contest for that year. Having both walleyes mounted 3 dimensional means I have 2r3d.....
