Lost my grandpa’s spear
« on: Jan 15, 2024, 06:59 PM »
Hey all,
Lost my grandpa’s spear on or near Lake Inez last week. Be forever grateful if you come across it - I’ve missed a lot of good pike with that one!

I'll keep my eyes peeled and spread the word. Best of luck you get it back!

Thanks for sending those good vibes!  I’m pretty sure Gramps would get a bigger kick out of me still enjoying time on the ice than using that old piece of metal, but he’d probably also wonder why I didn’t strap it down better!
Happy fishing.

Sent you a PM. I live nearby- happy to swing through and see if I can find it for you.
My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

Id mark the spot on a GPS. go back in the summer. Where I'm at there's a guy named "Diver Ed" who does these type recoveries as a hobby. There may be someone near you.

Did you lose it down the hole? If you lost it down the hole, I’d think it would be easily visible on the bottom.  Most people don’t spear in more than 8-10 feet of water.  Or did it drop off your sled on the way back? Or left in the parking area? Details like these could help someone find it for you.

Not down the hole, although this spear has at least one story about that happening. I'm fairly certain it fell out in the parking area or from the shoreline to the parking area. I know it was in the sled as I was getting close to shore. My best guess is that it's buried in the snow in the parking area or someone picked it up. Would have been clearly visible from shore to truck, as folks had been driving around the loop.
