Cleaning ice house
« on: Jan 07, 2024, 06:32 PM »
Has anyone ever washed their ice house? I have a clam Denali TC.  I have had it at least a dozen years.  For the most part the snow has cleaned it decently but it was getting a bit dirty anyways.  This year I had a bunch of mice got into it.  Doesn’t look like they chewed it but peed and pooped all over it.  Was curious if anyone ever tried to stick one in a laundry mat?

I have an Eskimo Quick Fish 3 I bought back in 2008. I also had some rodents get into this past off season and did the same to mine, fortunately they didn't chew any holes! I just set it up and hand washed it with a washcloth, warm water, a splash of Bleach and some vinegar. Didn't take too long and I believe I was able to clean it without issue. I also used a fresh towel and straight warm water to clean off any residual.

Best of luck and tight lines.

Take a pressure washer to it if you have one, If not take it to a carwash that has a wand and use soap and rinse,

Be careful with a pressure washer. Great way to damage your gear, if your not.

X2 on pressure washing.  I had an old Eskimo Quickflip (the green one) that got mice in it.  I washed it in the yard with a hose (summer time) and Dawn dish soap.  It worked great.  Now that I have hubs, I store them in the basement which eliminates the mouse problem.
