Tipup Flag Spring Replacement??
« on: Dec 25, 2019, 07:08 AM »
My tipup springs are weak.  If it is windy, they don't have the strength to stay vertical.   I mainly use Polars.  Trying to take the spring off has been a pain.  I've been thinking about buying springs a bit larger to slide over the old ones.

How do you replace the springs on polars or how are there any tricks to re-enforce them?

You can buy the entire flag assembly. I believe heritage laker uses the same size springs.  I'm sure the springs or something close you can find online (McMaster)
The only time I learn something is when I'm not talking.

Did you give HT a call and ask them?  They were always nice and super helpful whenever I called them.  Their phone number is 920-533-5080 and their office hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday (Central Time).

Here's a link to their contact us page:   http://htent.com/contact.html

Also FishUSA.com sells the telescopic extension flag.  I'm not totally sure if it'd work on your tip-up but I don't see why it wouldn't.

I also found on HT's website replacement flags for the Polar tip-ups for $4.99 each and you can buy them off the website.  Here's a link to them:
